A Wish Never to Be Fulfilled

Mrs. Beaver:

Daria and I went grocery shopping this afternoon. During a very ordinary outing, she said something that was anything but ordinary for a teenager living in America.

Following a brief pause in the conversation, Daria whispered, "I wish I knew what I looked like as a baby."

That breaks my heart. Little things we take for granted can mean so much more to someone else.

Two of my brothers told me the same thing. One asked me if he could use a picture of my son amos for his graduation.

I'll bet she looked just as sweet as she does now. And someday, God willing, when she has her own firstborn, she'll see herself in her own baby's face.

I can't imagine how hard that would be.... I'm sure she was a beautiful baby. :)
