New York, New York!

Denise (aka Mrs. Beaver): We had a great flight from Minneapolis to the JFK airport. I finished my Bible reading and came across this passage which  puts words to the exultation in my soul as we travel:
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him:
Speaks of all His wonders.
Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.
Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face continually.
Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done"
(1 Chronicles 16:8-12a)

One of my favorite wonders that I have been priveledged to watch is the forming of a family that is a happy intermixing of a number who are Russian-born and some whose roots have been American for generations. Although Jim and I have been to Russia six times, I've never made the effort to learn much about the largest country in the world. This trip affords more time to study Russia and her capitol because once we have the required physicals on Thursday afternoon after we land, we're free from obligations until we board an overnight train to our new kids' region, which is 12 hours east of Moscow.

To increase my knowledge of Russia, I bought a travel book, Lonely Planet's, Russia, in the Minneapolis airport. Even the few pages I read on the plane yielded new knowledge, and I look forward to learning more on this trip about nine of my children's homeland.

Learning more about Russia is a great idea for us to in order that we also can learn more about the homeland of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Praise the Lord.
