On Our Way Into Town

Mrs. Beaver:

As I mentioned in my last post, yesterday the family Alison will be serving, as well as the three of us went into the center of the city. To get to the taxi stand, we walked for about fifteen minutes through the farming community in which our friends live. Their area is essentially a suburb of the city. Here are some of the sights:

The farming areas are behind high walls. Many of the families have elaborate gates.

This was a small produce stand near the end of our walk.

These children belong to the host family which provided lodging for our friends for about five months. Starting off living with locals enabled our friends to regain their use of the language much more quickly.

When we reached the center of the capitol in our taxi, we were treated to the sight of many beautiful buildings and gardens.

More later... friends have arrived for dinner.
