Mrs. Beaver:
A year and a half ago in frigid Moscow, a childless couple met a lonely 13-year-old boy.
The couple had traveled to Russia's capital with a group of adults interested in ministering to orphans through the efforts of an organization called the "Russian Orphan Lighthouse Project." Before the four-day trip was over, Marcos and Jamie were determined to make Samuel their son. Mr. Beaver and I were on that same trip, watching the interactions between the threesome. We were amazed at the humor, tenderness and trust the three of them exhibited as they played and cuddled together. The Lord had already gone about shaping them into a family.
For 18 months that family has been separated by 9,000 miles. But today everything changed. They appeared before a judge, and after a grueling day of testimony the judge said, "Yes." The long wait for all three of them is over!
Marcos and Jamie, are a dad and a mom! More importantly in the sight of the Father of the Fatherless, the orphaned teen they fell in love with in January 2010 now has parents! They are now a family not just in their hearts but legally! So many prayers have been answered. Praise be to our mighty God!
This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.
The Lord's lovingkidnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
"The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him."
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him.
It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:21-26
