Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Part 2

Mrs. Beaver:

I mentioned in a recent post that we attended a Colorado Rockies baseball game while visiting Denver. Here's Part 2.

Since it was the weekend celebrating July 4th, those in the military were honored before the game began.

A giant American flag was brought on to the diamond by those in the armed forces or their family members.

It was then unfurled during the national anthem.

Once the game began...

...Jaynie helped explain baseball's intricacies to Daria.

Daria demonstrated a variety of puzzled reactions as she processed what she heard and saw.

However, as we watched a light dawn in Daria's eyes telling us that she was beginning to "get it," the Rockies definitely weren't "getting it." They were being over run by the Kansas City Royals, the team with the worst record in baseball.

No matter how hard we cheered...

...and even when Aunt Jean bravely turned her "lucky" visor backwards, we were no help to our team. They lost 16-8.

The Rockies lost, but we won. We had a day full of fun!

The Minnesota Twins are the same way. Whenever they play against the Kansas City Royals, they almost always lose. It's unbelievable!!
